Have any of you shiny people studied at Monash uni? I am looking at my options and considering Melbourne educational institutions as well as Sydney ones, with the thought being that I could start studying by distance and then move if I wanted to. Or else of course I could start at UTS and transfer to a Melbourne uni if I wanted to move at any point.. on account of having completely fallen in love with the cycling paths and cheap organic vegetables. Yeah, so who's up for moving to Melbourne?? *grin*

Engineering :-D

At the moment UTS is my favored Sydney institution, so I am going to apply there as well as Monash. But after visiting Melbourne I want to move there heaps because it was so awesome! All the organic food markets! So cheap!

I am thinking electrical, and maybe some biotechnology. Although mechatronics does sound awesome too. Then I can build battle mechs and take over the world.

Ah, much as Melbourne has stuff going for it, I'm still too much of a sucker for Sydney I'm afraid.

I just got an email tonight from Sydney Uni Social Work Dept saying they have a PhD scholarship available. Dangerous ideas.

No, no I shouldn't. It would be 3 years of my life, I'd need to earn quite bit of extra money to pay the mortgage as well and I doubt I have good enough results to do it properly.

...And yet it's tempting.

When I invent the cure for everything and become instantly rich I will share my profits with my comrades and then we can all go back to uni anytime we want! hurrah!

I had better get to work on that before we all die of old age :-D

I so want to! Hopefully I will work out a viable plan :-) My grand scheme was to enroll at Monash and start my degree by correspondence and then move down, but that was thwarted by the lack of options in Engineering. So now I am going to enroll for the first year at UTS and hopefully transfer down at the end of next year :-D

Melbourne is a great city. There's plenty of little places like Newtown (in feel) and I seriously considered moving there myself.
You'll always wonder..... you know that.

Hey! You were the one that said no one was allowed to leave Sydney! *sadface*

You can only leave if we have multiple couch-staying visits! Both ways... :)
